Latest ITT News: For Schools

The new DfE quality requirements for ITT are now in effect. 

The purpose of the new requirements is to ensure trainee teachers receive high quality training and for the ITT system to maintain capacity for delivering trainees to the profession and remaining beneficial to schools 


What has changed?


  • Mentors are required to have completed 20 hours of mentor training and to provide a minimum of 1.5 hours of mentoring support per trainee per week.
  • Introduction of Intensive Training and Practice (ITaP).
